Lyrical ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Lyrical mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and a unique user identifier through our authentication provider (Clerk). This information is used to provide personalized services and manage your subscription.
The App accesses your device's microphone to recognize songs playing around you using Apple ShazamKit. Audio is processed in real-time for song recognition only and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers. Only song identification data (title, artist, ISRC) is used to fetch lyrics.
With your permission, we collect approximate (city-level) location data to help you discover nearby concerts and live events. Location data is not stored on our servers or linked to your identity.
With your permission, the App uses your device's camera for the at-concert viewfinder and to create a "Concert Recap" — a short video of the moment with lyrics overlaid. Recap videos are rendered on your device and, with your permission, saved to your Photos library. Camera frames are not transmitted to our servers.
If you enable lyric translation, the lyric text of the current song is sent to our AI translation provider to produce a translation. This text is processed transiently to return the result and is not stored or used to identify you.
We collect pseudonymous analytics to improve the App and understand whether our marketing is useful. This includes:
We do not track individual song choices. Before sign-in, analytics uses a random device or browser identifier. After sign-in, we use your Clerk account identifier to understand the path from registration to product use across Lyrical's website and apps. Campaign data is limited to allowlisted marketing fields; we store only the referring hostname, not the full referring URL.
The website stores your analytics consent choice and a first-party, pseudonymous campaign attribution record in local storage. Google advertising and analytics storage is denied by default and is enabled only when you accept optional cookies. You may decline them from the consent banner.
In-app subscription purchases are processed through Apple's App Store (or Google Play on Android) and managed by RevenueCat. Subscriptions purchased on the web are processed by Stripe. In all cases we receive confirmation of your subscription status but never receive or store your payment card details.
We use the following third-party services:
LiveSync (our service):when you join a live-concert session, our servers relay the operator's lyric and effect cues to your device and count anonymous active viewers. We do not collect the identity of individual audience members for this feature.
You may optionally connect your Apple Music® or YouTube Music™ account to export setlists as playlists. These integrations use industry-standard OAuth authentication. We only request permissions necessary for playlist creation and do not access your listening history or other account data.
Car Mode lets you display lyrics on the web browser of any compatible in-car display. In phone-paired mode, lyrics are relayed from your phone to the car display through our servers (lyrical.glass) over an encrypted connection. In phoneless mode, the car browser signs in to Apple Music directly to detect the now-playing track. We do not receive or store your vehicle data.
You can disconnect these services at any time from the App settings.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Analytics and crash data are retained for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days.

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
