A display, not a text feed

AI glasses like the Even Realities G2 accept short lines of text over a phone pairing. XREAL glasses do something else entirely: they hand your phone a second screen over DisplayPort Alt Mode. Lyrical treats that screen the way it treats a car display or a projector.

The practical difference is what fits. On the G2 you read the current line and the next one. On XREAL you get the full lyric view, and if you are at a LiveSync show, whatever the front-of-house operator triggers arrives with it.

    Connect the glasses with a data-capable USB-C cable

    XREAL glasses appear to your phone as an external display over DisplayPort Alt Mode. The cable in the box works; a charge-only USB-C cable carries power but no video, and the glasses will stay dark.

    Open Lyrical and let it claim the second screen

    Lyrical detects the external display and moves the lyric view onto it. The phone keeps the controls, so you can start, stop, and nudge timing without taking the glasses off.

    Start a song

    Recognize what is playing, join a LiveSync show with a concert code, or pick the song from a setlist. Lyrics render on the glasses; effects render there too, because this is a real display rather than a text feed.

Which XREAL glasses does Lyrical support?
XREAL Air, Air 2, Air 2 Pro, One, One Pro, and Project Aura. Any AR glasses that present themselves to the phone as a USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode external display should work the same way.
Why are my XREAL glasses not showing anything?
The most common cause is a charge-only USB-C cable, which carries power but not video. Use the cable that came with the glasses or another cable rated for DisplayPort Alt Mode, then restart Lyrical after connecting.
Do visual effects work on XREAL?
Yes. Because XREAL presents a real display rather than a two-line text overlay, the full lyric view renders, including the LiveSync effects an operator triggers during a show.
Does this work on both iPhone and Android?
Yes, on any phone whose USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. That covers recent iPhones with USB-C and most current Android flagships; older Lightning iPhones cannot drive the glasses.
Can I use XREAL glasses in a car?
Not as a driver, and Lyrical does not support it. Car lyrics run on the in-car browser and are for passengers or a parked car.
Is XREAL support behind a subscription?
No. Projecting to glasses is on the free tier. Lyrical Pro adds translation, playlist export, watermark-free concert recaps, and saving more than one glasses profile.
